Presenting at the Crime and Fear in Public Places Conference KTH University Stockholm, Sweden 17-18 October 2018 – “Fear of Crime in the mobile city.”

John has presented on CPTED at numerous forums including the International CPTED (ICA) Conference, Brisbane 2004, the N.S.W. Police Crime Prevention Officer Conference 1999 and 2005, the ANZSOC International Conferences in 2006 and 2008, the University of Melbourne, Centre for Public Policy Conference 2006, the International Crime Prevention Conference in Montreal, Canada 2009, the Local Government Community Safety and Crime Prevention Conferences in 2013 and 2016 and the ICA Conference in Calgary, Canada 2013.

John was on the conference committee and presented on CPTED at each of the Making Cities Liveable / Safe Cities Conferences in Melbourne from 2014-2017.

Presenting at the International Design Out Crime Conference, Perth, Western Australia, February 2020 on “CPTED’s role in territorial reinforcement and gender equality.”

John’s most recent international speaking engagement was in October 2018 at the Crime and Fear in Public Places Conference KTH University Stockholm, Sweden speaking on “Fear of Crime in the mobile city.”

In 2018 he also spoke at a CPTED Technical Forum for Transport for N.S.W. Sydney on “CPTED and Public Transport” and in February 2020 at the International Design Out Crime Conference in Perth, Western Australia on  “CPTED’s role in territorial reinforcement and gender equality.”

In February 2020 he was one of the speakers at the Sydney University Building Safer Communities – Current and Future Trends Forum.
