Making and Shaping Safer Towns and Cities with CPTED

John Maynard is a crime prevention and community safety specialist interested in creating safer towns and cities. With a background in Psychology and Public Health John has worked in Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design or CPTED (“septed”) in both Local Government and the private sector for over twenty years and is an expert in understanding how the environment makes us think, feel and behave. John provides CPTED training to a range of different professional disciplines including planners, urban designers, architects, Police, community safety and crime prevention practitioners and security personnel. Courses can be customised to reflect crime, safety and broader issues relating to liveability and sustainability in your town or city. John is also available to provide expert CPTED advice and reports for your project or development.

John is also a public speaker and lecturer and hopes to publish his book on Preventing Crime in Towns and Cities in the near future.
